What Are Materials?
What Are Materials?

$595

Students learn to observe, describe and classify different kinds of materials. Students will analyze data obtained from testing different materials to determine which materials have the properties that are best suited for an intended purpose. Students will construct an argument with evidence that some changes caused by heating or cooling can be reversed and some cannot.
Science Topics:
  • What Material Makes Something Bounce?
  • What Materials Change with Heat?
  • What Properties of Materials are Best Suited for an Intended Purpose?
  • What Observable Properties Help to Classify Different Materials?
  • What is Engineering?
    What is Engineering?

    $595

Students make observations to construct an evidence-based account of how an object made of a small set of pieces can be disassembled and made into a new object.
    Science Topics:
  • Can we Design a Wheel?
  • Can we Build a Car?
  • Can we Design a Car to go Farther?
  • Can we Design a Plane to Fly Farther?
  • Life Cycles of Plants
    Life Cycles of Plants

    $595

Students learn to identify the main parts of a plant and what plants need to survive and grow. Students experiment with seed dispersal and pollinating of plants.
    Science Topics:
  • What do Plants Need to Live?
  • How do Animals Help Plants to Live?
  • What is the Life Cycle of a Flowering Plant?
  • How do Seeds Grow into Plants?
  • What is Diversity?
    What is Diversity?

    $595

Students observe and compare plant and animal diversity in different habitats.
    Science Topics:
  • What are Plants and Animals?
  • What is an Environment?
  • Why do Different Plants and Animals Live in Different Environments?
  • How does the Diversity of Life in Different Habitats Help the Environment?
  • What are Land Forms?
    What are Land Forms?

    $595

Students learn the types of landforms that exist on Earth, Students study how landforms may change over time.
    Science Topics:
  • How do Landforms Change?
  • How does Wind and Water Affect Land?
  • How can we Conserve Shape of Landforms?
  • What is the Relationship between Land and Water?
  • What is Water?
    What is Water?

    $595

Students will identify where water is found on Earth and observe  properties of water.
    Science Topics:
  • What are Forms of Water?
  • Where is Water Found on Earth? How Does Water change from Solid to Liquid to Gas?
  • What is Surface Tension?
